Apple is testing more than 10 iPhone 8 prototypes:
We’ve informed you that Apple is considering to bring AMOLED displays in their next iPhone series. 2017 is going to be huge for Apple because of it’s iPhone anniversary.
Apple is considering AMOLED touchscreens and curved display at the same time. A new report from Wall Street Journal breaks in and confirming that Apple is considering equipping one of the above specs in their next iPhone 2017 model.
Apple has told its suppliers to increase their AMOLED display output and submit it’s prototype screens with better resolution than it’s rival Samsung.
It is still unclear that what they’ve accomplished or decided so far. At the moment, Samsung has more than 90% market share in the mobile OLED panels. Samsung is already making processors for Apple. Apple might ask Samsung to go for OLED panels as well.
If Apple brings OLED displays in their upcoming iPhone models then the cost of these phones will cost even more than current price tags. This is mainly because OLEDs cost more to make than LCDs and we all know that Apple never let its profit margin to be smaller on this handset compared to the others.
Samsung is not the only one Apple is in contact for OLED panel. Apple is also in touch with LG, Japan Display, and Sharp. There's still a chance that Apple won’t use OLED next year iPhones because they are testing more than 10 prototypes and OLED is in one of them.
