Apple gets 79.2% of smartphone profits in 2016

In 2016 we saw many smartphone announcements but who was the winner in this race? Yes, Apple took the lead in profit race of 2016. Total operating profits was $44.9 billion out of $53.7 billion total globally.

Apple announced iPhone 7/7 Plus in 2016. These are first iPhones with waterproof features and dual front speakers. These features made them expensive and apparently it worked. It made $44.9 billion in operating profit whereas which is a huge difference against its rival Samsung which gets only $8.3 billion. The numbers would certainly be bigger if Samsung didn’t face Galaxy Note 7 incident.
