Google guarantees Pixel updates through 2018:

Google’s policy of updating their devices is almost the same with any Nexus device in the past. Which is, Android updates for two years and security updates for three years or 18 months max. Google has recently posted something about their current flagship devices Pixel and Pixel XL.


Google has released Google Pixel in October last year (2016). Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL will both receive latest Android versions through October 2018. As expected Google promised to give updates for two years to its devices. However, security patches could go longer than the updates. (3 years or 18 months).
