Skype redesign on Android and iOS
Skype gets a makeover on Android and iOS:
Skype is losing the battle of messaging service in smartphones for both Skype Android and Skype IOS.Attacked by more modern services and born with the mobile in mind as Whatsapp, Discord or Snapchat, the Microsoft messaging service Skype is losing momentum and is looking for a new life. After having launched a new interface, clearly inspired by Snapchat, at the beginning of the summer, which was very badly received by the users, Microsoft announces again a major interface change. Hereunder some changes they’ve made in Skype app for Android and iOS:
Simplified navigation:
The purpose of this new interface is to simplify access to Skype's essential features and thus make it more efficient for its users. For this, the developers have added a new navigation bar at the bottom of the application that provides access to chat, calls, contacts and the inspired part of Snapchat with the camera and highlights. This navigation bar has already appeared in version 8.13 of the application on iOS, where it has received a warm welcome from users.Courtesy: Frandroid[/caption]
Developers have also added a floating action button to start composing a message faster. This new feature called "SuperComposer" suggests contacts to the user and offers shortcuts to several functions like groups or the famous chatbots, so dear to Satya Nadella.
A version reserved for Skype Insider:
For now, this new interface is only available in Skype Insider, the version of Skype that allows testing in advance some news and making suggestions to developers. The developers want to collect as much feedback as possible on this new interface, hopefully not having to design a brand new one in 6 months.Source: www.newsaboutphones.com
